FAQ

Academic lab-based innovations contribute to advancing humanity. New discoveries happen every day. However, only a few of them finally turn into products. A major reason for this is that the mindset required to be successful in this arena is very different from the traditional academic orientation. We created the workshop to equip Weizmann’s staff scientists with the tools required to identify opportunities in their scientific environment and the skills, perspectives, and guidance to realize their technological potential.

Staff scientists have a pivotal role at The Weizmann Institute; they conduct pioneering research both in research groups and provide top-level technological and scientific support. Their involvement in the theoretical, practical, operational, and logistical aspects of research makes them uniquely positioned to take projects from the realm of idea into the realm of action. We believe that empowering staff scientists is key to promoting applied science at Weizmann.
